What do you love about yoga?
I love how yoga reminds me to reconnect with myself, be present both on and off the mat. I love how yoga makes me feel-physically, emotionally & mentally.
What are you working on in your own practice?
I am working on moving in a way that honors how Im feeling in the moment & to rest when needed. Im also playing around with creating different perspectives on familiar shapes/poses and not taking myself too seriously-allowing my practice to be perfectly imperfect.
When you're not practicing yoga, what do you like to do?
Spend time with my husband & our 2 orange cats. I love the beach, paddleboarding, reading, listening to live music, getting together with friends, traveling and generally having a fun time.
What something you found at Vira that you want to pass on to your students?
I found community. I found a judgement free space. I found support when I needed to revise my practice & given the confidence to make my practice truly be my practice and not look like anyone else’s.
What do you want students to experience in your class?
I want my students to experience a calm space where their practice can meet them where they are. I want them to slow down, connect with their breath & move in a way that honors their body. I want them to feel grounded and to take a piece of what they experienced in class into the rest of their day.
What and who are your biggest sources of inspiration?
Currently, my biggest sources of inspiration come from the people in my life who continue to be thoughtful, gracious & kind-all while facing personal challenges.
