What should students expect in your classes?

Expect to be greeted with a smile. We begin our practice by setting sacred space, utilizing intentions and grounding breath work techniques. Classes are designed to offer a gentle full body experience. Typically beginning and ending in supine positions, while awakening the energetic bodies through slow flow asana in between. We move slowly, encouraging time in child’s pose, and offering variations, as to allow you the opportunity to cultivate a practice that feels right for you. Classes are designed in effort to share both yoga asana and additional yogic practices, in fun and creative ways. Students will gain knowledge that they can use on and off their mat. My practice supports the belief that yoga can be for everyone. That is why I seek to build classes that are liberating, body-positive, gender inclusive, as well as culturally kind and competent. Students can expect to feel welcome and supported.

When you're not practicing yoga, what do you like to do?

I have always loved music. Whether its traveling to attend a concert, or listening to an album from start to finish, I find a lot of joy in singing and dancing. Recently, I’ve also enjoyed picking up the paint brush from time to time.

“I want students to experience moments of peace and insight, alongside santosha style contentment that stays with them as they leave the studio.”

What do you love yoga?

Yoga has provided me with purpose, direction, and community. It has given me the space to learn, explore, and share knowledge, tools and love. However, I think the thing I love most about yoga is that yoga is a practice of liberating the mind, body and spirit; and I love that the process looks different for each of us.

What challenges you in yoga?

My biggest challenge right now in yoga is walking the balance beam between ease and flexibility, versus strength and power. Typically, I’ve leaned more into ease and flexibility in both my life and my practice. Nowadays, I’m starting to find more comfort and value in welcoming in my strength and power.

What are the MOST important things you want your students to walk out of your class having experienced?

The world moves fast, this class doesn’t. And yet still, we will accomplish so much. I want my students to see how much value they can siphon from just one hour, while moving slowly. I want students to experience moments of peace and insight, alongside santosha style contentment that stays with them as they leave the studio.

What/who inspires you?

Peace makers, trail blazers, and regular folks who humbly make the world a more livable place.
