What should students expect in your classes?

Students can expect movement linked with breath. A moment to arrive in the space, a long warm up, a fun effortful flow, and a relaxing cool down all paired with some tunes and the freedom to do as much or as little as they want. Yoga help me find a peace of mind and calm I never even knew existed. I want to teach yoga to share this practice that has brought me so much peace in hopes of helping others find their own because everyone deserves to live with a peaceful mind.

When you're not practicing yoga, what do you like to do?

When I’m not practicing yoga, I’m usually outside tending to my flowers. Other loves of mine include my husband, drinking coffee, growing flowers, reading books, the beach, surfing, camping, hiking, road trips, my pups, spending time with my family and friends and moving slow.

What/who inspires you?

Nature inspires me. I love the seasons and living according to them.

What are the MOST important things you want your students to walk out of your class having experienced?

Most importantly, I want my students to experience being present in the space. I want them to take whatever it is they needed that day, be it rest or vigorous movement, my cues are just offerings, and everyone is free to move (or not) however they need.

“I want to share this practice that has brought me so much peace in hopes of helping others find their own - because everyone deserves to live with a peaceful mind.”

What do you love yoga?

I love yoga because it’s a presence practice, a moving meditation. No matter what is going on out there, being on my mat always brings me back to the present moment, to reality. And like Byron Katie said, “reality is always kinder than the stories we tell about it.” The mobility and strength are just an added bonus for me!

What challenges you in yoga?

What challenges me most in yoga is staying still, which more often than not is exactly what I need at any given moment. My mind easily stays put when moving and breathing but once the moving stops that’s when the real practice starts for me.
